Engagement Session

A Dreamy Summer Day

Morgan and London chose to have their engagement shoot at France Park. A park that seems to be one of the more adventurous parks here in Indiana. Throughout our shoot together we walked a good bit on some trails and over some creeks. Sometimes to get the best photo there is a little bit of work involved, but usually that work comes with nice views 🙂

Why Pick France Park?

France Park has a variety of locations all in one place. For starters there is the creek and waterfall area. You can hike on the creek the leads to the top of the waterfall. The top of the water fall is one of my favorite spots at France Park.

With all of the giant rock surfaces and the steep drop off into the water rushing below, you would have no idea you were only in Indiana just from the images. It is a perfect spot to just have the couple walk along and capture some breathtaking images.

Then once you are done at the top of the falls there is a rustic stairs/latter that leads to the bottom where you can take photos using the water fall as the back drop this time.

Now for the main attraction of France Park, the water and open edge cliff trails. The park that was once a quarry that is now a spring fed lake creates some landscapes that look like you are out west. The lake is surrounded by rocky cliffs that you can hike around using the water as a backdrop.

Tips for an Adventurous Engagement Session

For starters make sure to bring or wear shoes that are meant for hiking. You can always change back into your heels or flats after we get to the location. But like I mentioned earlier sometimes the photos with the best views and backdrops require a little bit of hiking 🥾.

Next make sure to bring water. Especially in shoots in the summer or spring when it can be a bit humid, you are going to want to make sure you have fluids so we can keep on enjoying our session together!

On the flip side if it is winter or fall, feel free to bring a jacket or gloves to wear in between locations.
